GOLD GOALS

How will your Goals produce Gold in your life this year? Have you planned a Gold Mine? In order to produce the results that you desire you must invest in the planning necessary to yield the fullest and expected outcome. Here are some very practical steps you can implement to achieve your goals using the S.M.A.R.T. acronym.

SMART:

S~ Specific

M~Measurable

A~Achievable

R~Realistic

T~Time Bound

Goals must have all five components. First look at the BIG picture of what you want to achieve. Then break it down into bite size pieces. Take baby steps. Celebrate small successes along the way as an incentive to get to the bigger goals.

You may have a desire to become rich in 2017. Okay. Well. What does rich look like to you? Define it. Write it down. Journal it. Unpack it. That's a very general goal. You must give more info. to clarify. How are you going to go about obtaining it? Are you planning on getting a high-powered position in the two comma club, earning above six figures? Planning to launch or expand your business? Will you release your cutting edge invention? Sell your intellectual property? Be specific.

If loosing weight is your resolution then write down the desired loss amount. What is your time-frame? What are your weekly goals? Maybe loosing two pounds a week? Journal your weekly weigh-ins. How will implement? Walk everyday? Drink more water? What new foods will you introduce into your diet? Have you thought about what beverages you want to drink/eliminate? Ask the hard questions. Do the work!

Write it down so you don't forget. I've heard it said that a short pencil is better than a long memory. Journal your thoughts on a consistent basis. Write it on an index card and keep it in your pocket to refer to regularly. The Bible says write the vision and make it plain so that those who read it may run with it. In other words carry out the plan. Create a vision board and post in a place you frequent often.

Break the vision down into smaller goals and develop a plan of action.

Additionally, Is your goal realistic? Is it measurable? What measurable tools will you put in place? Put a time limit on it. Be accountable!

Periodically check to see if you're pacing with your plan. Identify any roadblocks. You may need to reevaluate or tweak the goals but remain true to the overall vision. When you look at the grand scheme of things you may feel overwhelmed however, as you break the vision down into SMART GOALS you will feel a sense of accomplishment along the way. Reward your own efforts. Celebrate your victories.
