Good tidings we bring to you and your kin.
Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Traditionally in our family we celebrate BIG this holiday season. After all it's THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR! We decorate everything. We cook large feasts. We host family, friends, homeschool groups etc. We serve the Senior Community as well as the Homeless community. It's my pleasure to be at God's service.
Our favorite activities are: Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, "The Grand Illumination" in downtown Richmond, VA, Jefferson Hotel Tree Lighting Ceremony, Tacky Light Tours, Victorian Christmas at Maymont Mansion Tour, Christmas Candle Light Services and the list goes on and on.
We cannot forget Christmas Caroling with friends and family. I have a few to share with you here. Download Now!
At home we have scavenger hunts for Christmas gifts, stock up on plenty of hot cocoa, and blast Christmas music throughout the home almost 24 hours a day.
As you can probably tell, I'm usually worn out this time of year from all the busyness. Whew! However we're never too busy that we fail to remember the true meaning of the holiday.
Oh Holy night, we recall the story of the miraculous birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Each Year we read the story of the Birth of Christ (Luke 2: 1-20) before opening any presents. We have family devotion time to honor His presence. Sometimes we even have a cake that says Happy Birthday Jesus!
Although we know His official birthday isn't December 25th we do honor that fact that He was born as the Saviour for humanity! Christ is celebrated all year long in our household and in our hearts.
